This site is dedicated to all those who participate in this beautiful game. Thank You for visiting.
I know of no other game in which the participants are so eager to improve their performance. To this end, I pledge to relate in simple terms the benefits of custom fitting, customised and hand built golf clubs which will genuinely improve your game. You will find passion, a comprehensive approach to fitting golf clubs and a meticulous eye for detail. The overall purpose is to enable you to achieve a deeper understanding of your game, lower your handicap, and experience an improved confidence in your equipment and enjoyment of the game.
"I guarantee you will not find any spurious claims amongst these web pages, only facts. It's important to note this site is about helping you to recognise your game needs and helping you to play the best game of golf you can. As a professional club maker and fitter I spend just as much time customising clients existing golf clubs as I do making new ones. Being ever conscious about costs we offer the golfer a part exchange allowance on new custom made sets - please view our New and Resale page."

Golf is a massive industry that needs a regular turnover; this means the golfing equipment wheel has to be continually re-invented and aggressively marketed in order to coax golfers into changing their equipment every couple of years. In these pages you'll find the facts retailers and manufactures don't want you to know; the truth about the golf equipment sold today and the probability it will not be right for you and your game, unless; it has been fine tuned to your needs. Amigo4Golf will guide you past the marketing myths, show you how to buy a better game and save you time and money.
Manufacturers would have you believe that their brand of golf ball goes further, lands softer, gives more control and lasts longer than those of their competitors. By means of glossy ads they would have you believe that their clubs hit the ball further, give exceptional control and have larger sweat spots than those of their competitors.
God knows that golf is a difficult game - not to mention expensive. The sometimes spurious and contradictory claims by the manufactures can only leave us confused and dismayed. Is it too much to ask that a little truth and accurate guidance as to the benefit of their products would be of help and much appreciated by us all?
The golf ball is a personal choice and I cannot advise you which one to use. Try various brands and eventually you will find the one that is right for your game. A 100% compression ball will generally fly further than a 90% ball. However, it is more difficult to stop quickly - a problem when you are hitting into the Green. If you are a high handicapper or just learning the game then go for the cheaper ball. Do not be encouraged by what the Pro's play, they are paid hugh sums of money to play particular brands.
China is the foundry capital of the world and this is now where 99% of all club heads are made. The common process of club head manufacture is Forged or Cast. The Tour Professionals play with Forged heads. These are made of softer metal composites and offer enhanced feel of the ball strike. Forged heads are more expensive than Cast heads, due to the manufacturing process and labour involvement. The use of softer metals ensures greater loft and lie adjustments are possible on these clubs. Cast club heads are made of harder metal composites. The molten metal is poured into moulds which provides a very accurate finished product and involves less labour. These heads are brittle and do not readily lend themselves to much loft and lie adjustment.
The Tour Professionals are sponsord by the club manufacturers and what wonderful advertising machines they are. The manufacturers would have us all believe that if we use the same clubs we could be as good as the professionals. The clubs which you see your favorite professional playing are as different to your clubs as a Formula 1 Ferrari, is to a Skoda. You cannot buy the Pro's set of clubs off the shelf - they are custom made by a Professional Club Maker.

What's not amongst these pages?
In these pages I have touched on many subjects relating to golf clubs, however, I don't discuss in depth club heads or club head design; it's a massive subject that does not lend itself to abbreviation, and is best dealt with on an individual basis where personal preference can be taken into account. However, I would like to make two pertinent points on this subject. Firstly, don't be too quick to discard your old club-heads on the strength of a Glossy Ad pushing the latest technology or the endorsement of your favourite Tour Pro. Secondly; if you're not getting on with your golf clubs, the problem, in all probability, will not be the club-heads design.
