Our fitting program
The Amigo4Golf dynamic fitting program has been developed from tried and proven methods pioneered by the best club fitters in the US. Why dynamic? Well, golf is a moving (dynamic) game not a static game, Dynamic (moving) fitting not only understands that we are all physically different, but also accepts our golf swings are unique to us. Set out below is an outline of my 5 stage Dynamic Fitting Consultation, it takes 2 to 3 hours and will be both interesting and informative with guaranteed results. If a new set of Custom Made Clubs are required we will take your old clubs in Part Exchange.
1. Player Interview
First things first, we talk. It's crucial to get to know your game, to know the type of golf hole you enjoy and the type you don't, to establish the favourite golf clubs in your bag and the ones that bring you out in a cold sweat, to know how many putts you take in a round, how good your short game is and what you're like from a hundred yards out. I want to know how many times you hit the green with a middle iron and how likely you are to hit a fairway from the tee, the natural shape of your shots (hook, draw, slice, fade, ect) and where you're looking for improvement in your game.
2. Club Evaluation
We take a close look at the golf clubs you are currently using and take quite a few measurements; as there are no standards in the golf equipment industry, the inconsistencies are endless. For example, one manufacturers "S" flex shaft is another's "R" flex. Loft and lie angles distort with play, swing weights are very variable in all but a few sets of golf clubs. So it is essential to get a set of measurements from your golf clubs, it provides the starting point, that helps us understand your current game and to assess your future game needs.
3. Swing/Hit Analysis
I would like to see you hit a few golf balls, take a look at your setup, swing path, swing tempo and ball flight, complete a swing speed test, look at how you cope with different club lengths and have you hit a few shots off the lie board. This part of the fitting worries some inexperienced golfers, it shouldn't, it's not a test of skill and there is nothing to be gained by trying too hard, all I want to do is see your natural swing, the swing you take to the course.
4. Recommendations
With all the above information gathered, your golfing M.O.T is complete and conclusions will be reached, your equipment options can now be worked out. Set makeup (the golf clubs that should be in your bag) is extremely important to any golfer and is given a lot of consideration; head type, shaft and grip requirements will by now become obvious. I will then make a number of recommendations for you; some will be based on altering your current equipment, some on newly built golf clubs or quite possibly a mixture of both.
5. The Build
Now we come to perhaps the most important phase of Custom Fitting, the actual building of a meticulously matched new set or the precise alteration of your existing golf clubs. It is important to realise it is one thing to fit a set of golf clubs and quite another to produce a set as prescribed.
When I build or adjust a club, all components are weighed and checked prior to assembly, components not meeting specification are rejected, all the variables during the building or adjusting process are double checked. At Amigo4Golf I build/rebuild golf clubs to the highest standards, standards the assembly lines of the big name brands, can't match.
Putter fitting
On this subject I am firmly of the opinion "if it's not broken don't fix it" however, if you do not fit into this happy group of golfers, we will look at this very important aspect of the game in the fitting programme.
Lessons
I don't give lessons but if the fitting session highlights a need for coaching I will recommend them. It's important to understand, fitting out a golfer with the right golf clubs for their needs is not a cure all, e.g. if a golfer has a tendency to hit a violent hook off every other tee, then he/she has a swing problem and needs a good coach. On the Costa Blanca we are blessed with the number of very good teaching professionals and I will be happy to make recommendations to you.
I'll come to you
Although many of our clients travel some distance to see me - fitting sessions are undertaken at La Finca Golf Course, there are a growing number of busy golfers who prefer that I come to them and providing there is a nearby driving range or practice facility it presents no problem, please see the price list for details.
